Meet Sora!

Sora is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with that classic Shepherd personality, loyal, intelligent, affectionate, energetic, and incredibly devoted to her people.

She is a very sweet girl who forms a strong attachment to the people she trusts. Once Sora considers you one of her people, she absolutely loves being close to you and spending time with you.

Training & Skills

Sora has a great foundation in her basic obedience, including:

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Stay

  • Heel

  • Front / Recall

  • Side

  • Under

She is willing to work, motivated, and enjoys training. She has typical German Shepherd energy and would do wonderfully with someone who enjoys staying active and continuing to work with their dog.

Temperament & Personality

Sora is sweet, affectionate, loyal, and extremely attached to her people. She also gets along wonderfully with most dogs she meets.

Her biggest challenge is that she can be shy and unsure around unfamiliar people. This is not displayed in an aggressive way — she simply needs time and space to become comfortable rather than being expected to immediately interact with someone she doesn't know.

Once she trusts you, you get to see the incredibly loving and devoted dog underneath.

Career Change

Sora was ultimately career changed from service work because of her shyness around unfamiliar people. Service dogs need to be consistently comfortable and neutral around people in all types of environments, and we don't believe it is fair to put that pressure on her.

Instead, we would love to see Sora with someone who appreciates her Shepherd personality and allows relationships to develop at her pace.

Sora would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an intelligent, active, trained, and deeply loyal companion. She has a great obedience foundation, is motivated to work, does wonderfully with most dogs, and has so much affection to give.
