Meet Leiah!
Leiah is a beautiful 1-year-old Golden Retriever who came to us as a rescue when she was approximately 7 months old. From the very beginning, she has been an incredibly sweet, friendly, and loving girl. Since joining our program, Leiah has developed into a wonderful young dog with a great training foundation and so much potential ahead of her. She is happy, cuddly, affectionate, and playful, with a lovely balance between enjoying activities and being able to settle down. She definitely has her energetic moments, but she also has a wonderful off switch and loves relaxing with her people.
Training & Skills
Leiah has been progressing nicely through our service dog training program and has developed a solid foundation in her basic obedience, including:

She has also received public access training and generally does very well when out and about. While Leiah can occasionally become a little nervous when encountering unfamiliar situations or things she hasn't experienced before, she typically works through those moments nicely with guidance from her handler. Additional public access exposure and continued confidence building will help her become even more consistent as she matures. Leiah is also accustomed to being in a crate and does very well with that structure.
Temperament & Personality
Leiah is an absolute sweetheart with a beautiful personality. She is loving, affectionate, happy, playful, and incredibly cuddly. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is great with adults and children. One of the things we love most about Leiah is her balance. She enjoys playing, exploring, and being active, but she also knows how to settle down and enjoy some quiet time with her people. She is a very sweet girl who loves affection and being part of everyday life.
Started Service Dog
Leiah is being offered as a started service dog, meaning she already has a strong foundation in obedience, public access exposure, and structured training. She is not yet a fully trained service dog and will require continued training, additional public access experience, and further development based on her future handler's individual needs. Her willingness to learn, affectionate personality, and ability to work through unfamiliar situations make her a lovely young dog to continue developing.
