Meet Dixon! Dixon came to us as a rescue when he was still a puppy. His previous family became overwhelmed with the normal challenges of raising a young puppy and realized they could no longer keep him. Since coming to us, Dixon has grown into a wonderful, sweet, happy, and goofy young Golden with so much love to give. He absolutely loves being around people and is the kind of boy who is always ready for cuddles, attention, and fun.

Training & Skills: Dixon started training toward becoming a service dog and has been working on his basic obedience'. He has also received public access training and exposure to different environments.

Temperament & Personality: Dixon is a happy, goofy cuddle bug who loves life. He is wonderful with other dogs, adults, and children and genuinely enjoys being around everyone. He is affectionate, playful, social, and has that fun young Golden personality that makes him such an enjoyable dog to have around.

Career Change: Although Dixon started training in our service dog program, we ultimately decided to career change him because he is too outward focused. He tends to pay more attention to what is happening around him than what we require from a working service dog. This doesn’t take away from what a wonderful dog he is, it simply means we believe he will be happier without the expectations of service work.

Why Dixon?: Dixon deserves a family that will embrace his sweet, goofy, affectionate personality and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He already has a training foundation, loves dogs and children, and is an all-around happy young boy. Now he is ready to find a wonderful forever home where he can simply enjoy being someone’s best friend.
